Abstract
Cationic transannular oligomerization of 15cyclooctadiene initiated by BF3OEt2 and AlCl3 is presented in this paper The numberaverage molecular weight of the resultant polymer is about 1500 and the softening temperature range is 140–160°C By means of NMR IR and PCMS analyses the chain structure of polyl5cyclooctadiene proposed earlier by Marvel et al is corroborated
