Abstract
In this paper a systematic state feedback scheme is proposed to arbitrarily place all the closedloop poles of linear multivariable systems The systems considered are linear timeinvariant and completely state controllable The state feedback gain matrix can be formulated using an algebraic approach A general state tracking controller is further developed Zero steadystate errors are guaranteed The speed control of a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft is carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed state tracking and pole assignment schemes
