Abstract
Borel and Tits have shown that in any isotropic absolutely almost simple simply connected linear algebraic group G over a field k contains a ksplit semisimple ksubgroup containing a maximal ksplit torus T of G as well as arbitrarily chosen kpoints in the rootgroups with respect to T corresponding to the roots in a simple system of the reduced system of kroots of G In this paper we prove that one can in fact imbed somewhat larger quasisplit groups in isotropic groups when the characteristic of k is different from 2
