Abstract
Creative writing groups are cognitive enhancement programs that can be offered easily with minimal expense and are adaptable to many community settings Healthy older adults as well as those living with cognitive impairment can benefit from them if they desire an intellectually challenging activity with a social component This chapter presents case studies reviews research evidence of the health and cognitive benefits of creative writing and illustrates the value of a “building on existing strengths approach” to cognitive support and stimulation
