Abstract
A populationbased household survey was conducted in Aleppo population 25 million involving 1168 subjects ≥25 years old 477 men mean age 447 ± 127 years Information about sociodemographics personal behavior and other CVD risk factors was collected Anthropometric measurements and fasting blood samples were obtainedThe prevalence of clinical risk factors of CVD ClinRFs was 456 for hypertension 432 for obesity 219 for hypercholesterolemia and 156 for diabetes The prevalence of behavioral risk factors BehRFs was 823 for physical inactivity 390 for smoking and 334 for unhealthy diet All ClinRFs increased with age while gender was associated only with obesity and smoking Education was associated with obesity and diabetes P 005 for all
