Abstract
The paper presents experimental results for highspeed thermal treatment of SiAlON ceramics using spark plasma sintering and gaspressure combustion sintering The temperature ranges that determine the density phase composition and microstructure in multicomponent SiAlON systems are established Individual phases of the sintering process and the effect of constitution and basic properties of starting powders on the microstructure and phase composition of sintered SiAlON ceramics are analyzed
