Abstract

The development of macroeconometric modelling in France was characterized by the involvement of the governmental agencies that looked for instruments that could help in elaboration 5years plans for the French economy A large FIFI model was built in the late 60s using the concept of “economie concurrences” developed by R Courbis Severed annual forecasting models were constructed at INSEE to support preparing the annual budgetsThe second generation of models was developed in the late 70s at INSEE—the DMS annual model and at GAMA Universite Nanterre They were supplemented and then substituted by the quarterly models of French economy the official METRIC model and the PROTEE model by GAMA
