Abstract

The proof of Lemma 24 is correct when the habitat is onedimensional However the fact that the function hatrho 1 defined by formula 614 approaches zero on the part of the cone mathbfx=tildect where x 1=0 invalidates the argument that rho 1le hatrho 1 for mathbfxle tildect when the habitat is multidimensional This gap is easily repaired by replacing the function cosh mu x 1 in 614 by a radially symmetric positive solution Psi mathbfx of the equation nabla 2Psi =mu 2Psi When the habitat has dimension 2 one can let Psi =I 0mu mathbfx where I 0 is the usual Bessel function with imaginary argument In three dimensions one can let Psi =sinh mu mathbfx/mu mathbfx
