Abstract

In this section we describe the anaesthesia procedure for kidney transplantation We start with candidate selection underlining the more important point we consider for optimisation of any comorbidities to minimise the risk of morbidity and mortality during the perioperative period The anaesthesiological procedures are considered with an analysis of the drugs that are commonly used The most appropriate anaesthesiological conduct is explained A section describes the intraoperative monitoring during surgery Finally we analyse the important points we consider to obtain a good kidney perfusion after transplant The paper is a combined result of an analysis of the literature about this topic and the clinical experience of 1800 kidney transplants performed in our university hospital
