Abstract

Tumor metastasis is the major cause of death from ovarian cancer Therefore targeted therapy which could prevent the ability of cells to metastasize to different organs is an effective treatment for ovarian cancer at present Previous study indicated that the peptide WSGPGVWGASVK WSG inhibited the adhesive ability of SKOV3 to extracellular matrix For further study we have investigated the effects of the peptide WSG on the ovarian cancer cell migration Results showed that WSG peptide promoted the migration of SKOV3 and HUVEC cells through regulating the expression of talin and ppaxilin protein Besides WSG peptide inhibited the SKOV3 viability The expression of human matrix metalloproteinase MMP2 and MMP9 of SKOV3 cells was inhibited All these results suggested that peptide WSG might be used in ovarian cancer therapyThis work has been supported by the Natural Science Foundation of China No 51503140 11502158 and 11502156 the support of the Scientific and Technological Innovation Programs of Higher Education Institutions in Shanxi No 2015140 Natural Science Foundations of Shanxi Province No 2015021195 are also acknowledged with gratitude
