Abstract
The cyanoacrylate skin surface stripping CSSS is a minimally invasive method for harvesting the superficial part of the horny layer Under regular conditions CSSSs are painless and do not induce adverse events CSSSs are scrutinized under controlled and appropriate methods of analytical morphology These procedures apply to a series of clinical conditions including xerosis grading comedometry corneodynamics corneomelametry corneosurfametry and corneoxenometry With each of the designed analytical methods CSSSs provide specific salient information In particular CSSSs appear valuable and complementary in assessing any changes in the human skin structure A set of quantitative analytical methods applicable to the minimally invasive and lowcost CSSS procedures allow for a sound assessment of the horny layer in dermatology and dermocosmetic science
