Abstract

This special issue of the ACM/Springer Wireless Networks Journal contains extended versions of selected papers presented at the Third Workshop on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile Ad Hoc and Wireless Networks WiOpt’05 3rd International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile Adhoc and Wireless Networks Riva Del Garla Trentino Italy April 3–7 2005 The eight papers included in this special issue have been selected after a thorough evaluation process in accordance with the Journal’s standards and proceduresThe Workshop received a total of 133 papers of which 44 were accepted The largest number of papers were received from N America though there were a significant number from Europe and Asia Based on the reviews extended versions of the top 10 papers were invited for submission for this special issue Finally based on the reviews eight papers were selected to be included The workshop theme included papers on most currently researched topics in wireless
