Abstract

The structure and properties of a magnesium alloy of theMg – Y – Gd – Zr system are studied The kinetics of decomposition of the magnesiumbase supersaturated solid solution is studied at 175 200 225 and 250°C and the mechanical properties of the alloy are determined at room and elevated to 350°C temperatures A hotpressed plate after aging for maximum hardening of the alloy exhibits high strength parameters both at room and elevated to 300°C temperatures
