Abstract

We propose an equation and boundary conditions characterizing flow of viscoelastic fluids in pores of a rock The equation was discretized by a finitedifference method We obtained the velocity contour for different boundary layers We found that a more pronounced boundary layer effect leads to a slower flow velocity in the pore and a smaller micro sweep area while the area occupied by residual oil becomes larger and the sweep efficiency is reduced
