Abstract

We have constructed a semianalytical model for predicting the production rate of complex wells in anisotropic reservoirs with damage to the producing formation We go from an anistropic to an isotropic reservoir by means of a coordinate transformation The formation damage due to invasion of drilling fluid and well completion fluid is expressed by a skin factor which is introduced into the semianalytical model The proposed comprehensive model for predicting the production rate of complex wells therefore fully takes into account the characteristics of formation damage in anisotropic reservoirs and the impact of the damage on productivity The model taking into account formation damage is more accurate
