Abstract
We describe a novel superconducting transformer design for the efficient transfer of magnetic flux from a macroscopic pickup coil to a lowinductance SQUID A large number of highlyefficient onetoone transformer elements are wired in series and in parallel for the primary and secondary of the transformer respectively This transformer coupling allows us to isolate the SQUID from the microwave resonances inherent in highinductance coils
