Katsuhiko Matsui Toshihiko Arai A cellfree Salmonella typhimurium extract induces inhibition of tyrosine phosphorylation in murine splenic Tlymphocytes FEMS Immunology Medical Microbiology Volume 12 Issue 1 September 1995 Pages 51–53 https//doiorg/101111/j1574695X1995tb00174xIn a previous study we observed that suppression of Tcell proliferation induced by Salmonella infection is associated with inhibition of tyrosine phosphorylation in Tcells and that a cellfree Salmonella typhimurium LT2 extract LT2 extract also suppressed mitogeninduced Tcell proliferation In the present study therefore we attempted to clarify whether the Tcell suppression induced by LT2 extract involved inhibition of tyrosine phosphorylation in Tcells Western blotting using antiphosphotyrosine antibodies showed that the mitogeninduced tyrosine phosphorylation of 120 106 94 76 68 57 and 36kDa proteins in murine splenic Tcells was inhibited by treatment with LT2 extract These results suggest that the suppression of Tcell proliferation induced by LT2 extract is also associated with inhibition of tyrosine phosphorylation in Tcells
