Abstract
The Anatolian motorwaythrough the Asarsuyu Valley passes across landslides formed in amphibolites metagranites and metadiorites which have been extensively disturbed by past fault movements The investigations indicated that the instabilities in the valley could affect the proposed motorway An attempt was made to establish the shear strength values of the 1200×750×130 m Kom Rock Slide using the Hoek and Brown equation The work indicated that this was not applicable in the highly sheared material along the major fault zonesLa traversée dautoroute sur le long dAsarsuyu passe a travers une masse de roche très faible qui sest formée de metadiorite de metagranite et damphibolite pénétrés les uns et les autres qui avaient subit une décomposition de différent degré et qui est coupée par la zone de faille dAnatolie du Nord avec les systèmes danomalie physiques On en résulte que la roche se trouvant dans la vallée sétait développée sous le contrôle des caractéristiques géomecaniques et que les plans de glissement se sont épanouis aussi le long des surfaces circulaires davantage que des anomalies physiques des mouvements du sol provenant de faille
