Abstract

The crystal structure of hexakisdimethylureaironIII perchlorate Fedmu6ClO43 has been determined by xray diffraction analysis The complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system space group C2/c witha = 162692b = 191092c = 132532 β = 94965° z = 4 It consists of discrete Fedmu63+ and ClO4− ions The iron atom is coordinated to six oxygens FeO = 1989 1993 and 2023 Å in a nearly octahedral way An iterative extended Hückelmodel study has been carried out to rationalize the Mössbauer parameters of some ironIII complexes with urea type ligands
