Abstract

Triphenylphosphine TPP was used as reducing agent to continuously generate the CuI activator in copperIIcatalyzed activators generated by electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerization AGET ATRP For example the polymers prepared with a molar ratio of MMA0/EBiB0/CuCl20/PMDETA0/TPP0 = 500/1/01/05/05 had controlled molecular weights and low molecular weight distribution M w/M n values ∼12 TPP as a commercial reducing agent provides a convenient coppercatalyzed AGET ATRP procedure for the preparation of welldefined polymersThis work was financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China Nos 21404051 and 21404052 the Natural Science Foundation of Shandong Province Nos ZR2014BQ016 and BS2014CL040 the Talent Introduction Special Funds of Ludong University Nos 2014012 and 2014017 the Program for Scientific Research Innovation Team in Colleges and Universities of Shandong Province and Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Advanced Functional Polymer Design and Application Soochow University
