Abstract
The standard treatment for metastatic liver tumor from breast cancer is systemic medical treatment and there is controversy regarding the value of local treatment However there are some exceptional cases that do benefit from local therapy We describe the case of a 54yearold woman with systemic therapyresistant liver metastasis from breast cancer successfully treated with a single shot of 36GyE carbonion radiotherapy and surviving more than 8 years without local recurrence This case represents a good example of the usefulness and safety of carbonion radiotherapy and who might benefit from local therapy
