Abstract
A series of spherical LiNi08Co015Ti005O2 cathode materials were synthesized through cooxidationcontrolled crystallization method followed by solidstate reaction at different calcination temperatures under oxygen flowing The crystal structure and particles morphology of the asprepared powders were characterized by Xray diffraction XRD and scanning electron microscopy SEM respectively All samples correspond to the layered αNaFeO2 structure with R3m space group The LiNi08Co015Ti005O2 prepared at 800 °C presents a better hexagonal ordering structure and better spherical particles and possesses a high tap density of 322 g cm−3 Meanwhile the NCT2 sample exhibits an advanced electrochemical performance with an initial discharge capacity of 1742 mAh g−1 and capacity retention of 867 after 30 cycles at 02 C
