Abstract
This book contains the 12 papers read at the Conference in Massachusetts with 33 participating investigators in the field The primary role of estrogens and progesterones and the stimulation of ovulation by pituitary hormones both in experimental animals and in humans are discussed Of interest to neurologists are the presentations of new and interesting developments in the control of the pituitary by certain regions in the brain The results of some current attempts to inhibit or prevent ovulation by the administration of analogues of the steroid hormones and their relevance to the mechanisms controlling ovulation are discussed
