Abstract
A series of welldefined block glycopolymer with the ether linkages throughout the main chains were synthesized by an easy and efficient way First the block copolymer intermediates polyethylene oxidebpolyallyl glycidyl ether PEObPAGE with narrow molecular weight distribution were prepared by living anionic ringopening polymerization Then 2346tetraOacetylβthioglucopyranose AcGSH molecules were attached to the PAGE blocks by freeradical addition reaction of –SH groups of saccharide molecules with the double bonds Finally removal of the acetyl protective groups afforded the corresponding glycopolymers polyethylene oxidebpolyallyl glycidyl etherglucose PEObPAGEglucose The composition and structure of the glycopolymers were characterized by 1HNMR 13CNMR and FTIR
