Abstract
In this paper a copolymer has been prepared with bismaleimide resin BMI and phenolphthalein cyanate ester resin PPCE which formed bismaleimidetriazine BT copolymer PPCE is synthesized in cyanogens halidephenol method with the microstructure examined by fourier transmission infrared spectroscopy FTIR 1HNMR 13CNMR and thermogravimetric analysis TGA The BMI/PPCE copolymer exhibits excellent mechanical properties and stable thermal properties when the content of BMI is 30 wt And the moisture absorption of the blends is found to be small higher than PPCE resin The dielectric properties of BMI/PPCE copolymer such as dielectric constant and dielectric dissipation factor show good stability over a wide frequency range from 10 to 60 MHz In addition the BMI/PPCE copolymer has a better thermal stability compared with PPCE resin with the increasing of BMI contentThis work was financially supported by the National Science Foundation of China Innovative Research Group No 51221005 the National Science Foundation of China No51407134 and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation No2014 M562412 The authors also thank their colleagues in their laboratory for their support
