Abstract
Due to nonstable mobile locations fluctuations in client request rates and deterioration of quality of service operators and suppliers of service and content must cooperate to satisfy their customers One way this type of cooperation can be achieved is through a dynamic reconfiguration of service provision platforms Such a reconfiguration is a realtime operation preformed over an initial configuration with the goal of improving the platform’s quality of service parametersReconfiguration can be done by software can be physical or logical consisting in intervening on the physical or software components of the platform operative on the physical links or transmitted information without deteriorating the SLAs contracts signed between customers and operatorsThis research synthesizes the various alternatives previously suggested for reconfiguration taking place at multiple intervention levels In order to accomplish this synthesis a platform model was developed Models of traffic and mobility were interjected in order to predict user movement and demand patterns In the end several reconfiguration scenarios are proposed which could accommodate such variables as the change or migration of software components stock management networks the ISDN of information or data adaptationIn the first part of this paper we are interested in the problem of reconfiguration as a problem of optimization monoobjective to several constraints We propose a mathematical model to represent the problem However to solve it exactly may turn out to be very expensive in terms of computational complexity We also propose a method based on the deviation of flow and heuristics solved with genetic algorithmIn the second part of this paper we are interested in the behavioral aspect of the problem It consists of considering the different metric ones simultaneously and seeking a whole of solutions representing various interesting compromises between the resources network and the classes of service and users
