Abstract
Single crystal Xray diffraction analysis is used to determine the structure of iridiumIII trans trifluoroacetylacetonate at 150 K The crystallographic data for trans C15H12F9O6Ir are as follows a =1343345 Å b = 1491366 Å c = 1942298 Å space group Pcab V = 389123 Å3 Z=8 dx = 2224 g/cm3 R = 00236 The structure is molecular The metal atom coordinates six oxygen atoms of three βdiketonate ligands of βdiketone The IrO distances are within the range of 200 Å to 202 Å the average value is 20116 Å the average value of the chelate angle∠OIrO is 9525° In the crystal the molecules are bound only by van der Waals interactions six shortest Ir…Ir distances in the structure are within the range of 74699712 Å
