Abstract
Magnetoelastic hysteresis loops of grade 45 carbon GOST 105088 chemical composition in weight percentage Fe ≈ 97 C = 045–02 Si = 017–037 Mn = 05–08 Ni 025 S 004 P 0035 Cr 025 Cu 025 and As 008 and 30 KhGS steel GOST 454371 chemical composition in weight percentage Fe ≈ 96 C = 028–035 Si = 09–12 Mn = 08–11 Ni 03 S 0035 P = 0035 Cr = 08–11 and Cu = 03 samples tempered at different temperatures are investigated The magnetoelastic sensitivity parameter – the tangent of the loop inclination angle – is introduced as a characteristic of the stationary change of the residual magnetization Concepts of positive and negative piezomagnetic effects are introduced for the residually magnetized state and the mechanism that explains the given phenomenon is suggested
