Abstract
Retinal arterialization of a subretinal fibroustissue plaque has been observed clinically and by fluorescein angiography in three patients with senile disciform macular degeneration and one with presumed healed Toxocara chorioretinitis This curious phenomenon has been documented histopathologically in both eyes of a patient with bilateral senile disciform macular degeneration Anastomosis of the retinal and choroidal circulations has been documented in this patient by study of partial serial sections So far as we know this is the first time that retinal arterialization of a subretinal fibroustissue plaque and anastomosis of the retinal and choroidal circulations has been demonstrated
