Abstract
A laserbased refractographic system for visualization of nearwall layers of a mixture of optically inhomogeneous liquids is described The theory underlying the method of visualization of an inhomogeneity of a mixture based on the phenomenon of total internal reflection is considered and the sensitivity of the method is estimated The diagram of an experimental plant and examples illustrating visualization of a mixture of a drop of glycerin and water are presentedWe wish to present to the reader a continuation of a series of articles from leading researchers of the V A Fabrikant Department of Physics devoted to the 80th Anniversary of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute The principal focus is on the application of lasers for the investigation of flows and the density of liquids the determination of the position of the center of a laser beam and the measurement of the flexure of a metallic surface For the earlier articles in the series see Issue No 9 of the journal
