Abstract

My reflections about the research on women and mathematics have led me to the thesis that this research is in a paradigmatic state although there have been empirical and theoretical analyses not being in accordance with the paradigm in some respect To a large extent the research is based on a rather homogeneous attitude towards the issue women and mathematics and certain theoretical approaches and empirical methods dominate in this field of research In this contribution main features of the paradigm are described and confronted with alternative perspectives on the subject in question The goal of my paper is to intensify the selfreflection in the research on women and mathematics
