Abstract
336 consecutive patients underwent twoport TEP repairing 478 hernias 315 938 patients were male and 21 62 were female Mean age ± SD was 47 ± 14 years and mean body mass index ± SD was 280 ± 47 kg/m2 Indications for surgery included primary repair 303 902 recurrence from open repair 28 83 and incarcerated inguinal hernia 5 15 194 577 cases were unilateral and 142 423 were bilateral Operative time ± SD was 387 ± 149 min for unilateral repair and 434 ± 176 min for bilateral repair Twoport TEP was successful in 316 940 20 60 cases required the addition of a third port 2 06 cases were converted to open repair Mean followup time ± SD was 54 ± 27 years Postoperative complications included urinary retention 5 15 seroma 7 21 hematoma 1 03 surgical site infection 4 12 and chronic inguinal pain 3 09 11 23 hernias recurred
