Abstract
Laser deposition was adopted to prepare novel Nibased solid solution γNiCrAlTi/ TiC/αTi/CaF2 hightemperature selflubricating wear resistant composite coating on Ti6Al4V alloy Microstructure microhardness wear behavior and counterbody effect of the coating were investigated systematically It can be seen that the coating mainly consists of γNiCrAlTi TiC αTi and small fine CaF2 particles Average microhardness of the coating is 1023 HV03 which is about threefactor higher than that of Ti6Al4V substrate 380 HV03 The friction coefficient and wear rate of the coating decrease at all test temperatures to different extents with respect to the substrate The improvement in wear resistance is believed to be the combined effects of the γNiCrAlTi solid solution the dominating antiwear capabilities of the reinforced TiC carbides and the selflubricating property of CaF2The authors acknowledge the financial supports from the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province Grant Nos BK20141194 and BK20131155 the Opening Foundation of Material Tribology Key Laboratory of Jiangsu Province Grant No Kjsmcx201301 One of the authors SH Shi is also grateful for the financial supports from the National Nature Science Foundation of China Grant No 11172191
