Abstract

Local exposure of experimental animals to lowintensity emission from a thulium laser λ = 196 μm leads to changes in the Raman and IR absorption spectra of blood This indicates development of systemic effects caused by direct excitation of water molecules by radiation with wavelength ~2 μm in particular modifi cation of the hemoglobin molecule
