Abstract
Poisoning due to eating berries of plants of the Solanaceae order has seldom been reported in Ireland This case is recorded because it is unusual as the man concerned is an adult countryman and not as so often happens a city child out for a day in the countryI wish to thank Dr Oliver FitzGerald under whose case this patient was admitted for permission to publish and also to thank Professor John McGrath for general advice and encouragement and Dr Leo McElearney for details of the clinical condition on admission
