Abstract
PeutzJeghers syndrome is a rare familial condition in which intestinal polyposis is associated with mucocutaneous pigmentation This entity has not been described previously in Ireland A case involving an Irishman in which there is also diabetes mellitus and a spinal cord lesion is presented The polyps are hamartomas and do not become malignant They cause bleeding and intussusception Occasionally operation is necessary Surgery should be conservative and as many polyps as possible should be removed through several enterotomies
