Abstract

To the Editor—  The disorder described in the July 1981 Archives 117412414 entitled Disseminated Spiked Hyperkeratosis An Unusual Discrete and Nonfollicular Keratinization Disorder by Frenk et al is similar I believe to multiple minute digitate hyperkeratosesGoldstein1 described a 32yearold man with multiple minute digitate hyperkeratoses—fine filiform hyperkeratotic lesions of the chest and the anterolateral aspects of the arms and legs I now observe this patient and he also has extensive lesions on his back and a few fine lesions on his face The lesions are not associated with hair follicles This patients family history does not show any other family members affected in this way His condition began sometime during the second decade of lifeYoon and Gibbs2 reported another case in 1975 The histologic characteristics and clinical manifestation of these two cases are similar to what Frenk et al have described Both names suggested for this
