Abstract

Fe3O4 nanoparticlessupported palladium2 2′bipyridine complex was synthesized and used as catalyst for Suzuki coupling reactions between different aryl iodides and bromides with phenyl boronic acid under mild conditions This catalyst can be separated magnetically However due to the aggregation of catalyst with the increase in reaction times the activity dropped dramatically from 99 for the first time use to 45 for the fourth time use and then kept constant subsequentlyWe thank National Natural Science Foundation Nos 20671002 20490217 and 20271002 of PR China Science and Technological Fund of Anhui Province for Outstanding Youth No 08040106906 the State Education Ministry EYTP SRF for ROCS SRFDP20070370001 and the Education Department No 2006KJ006TD of Anhui Province for financial support
