Abstract
Symptomatic lumbar disc herniation is common A herniated disc fragment is usually described as having central lateral or far lateral positioning A bilateral location of a herniated disc has not been reported previously in the literature We report the first case with bilateral posterolateral location at the same discal level Classifications of lumbar herniated discs by location have been previously reported by some authors It may be especially useful to have a valid objective standard by which to measure herniated discs using MRI
