Abstract

A 71yearold woman who undergone surgery for malignant melanoma of her calf developed brain and lung metastases In October 2012 she was started on vemurafenib 960 mg twice daily Her estimated glomerular filtration rate eGFR was 57 mL/minute/173 m2 at the time of commencement of the therapy A month later there was a marked increase in serum creatinine level She also developed cutaneous rash so the vemurafenib dose was decreased to 480 mg twice daily Her renal function remained stable at this dose Her regular treatment included fenofibrate olmesartan/hydrochlorothiazide and she received radiography
