Abstract

A reaction of 2iodophenol and 2iodoanisole with 1adamantanol in trifluoroacetic acid gives the corresponding 41adamantyl derivatives Similar adamantylation of 4iodophenol and 4iodoanisole is accompanied by migration of the iodine atom from para to orthoposition giving 46di1adamantyl2iodophenol and 41adamantyl2iodoanisole respectively as the reaction products
