Abstract
At first glance the relevance of this book to my work of over 38 years with individuals with autism was not clear After further review I believe it may substantially complement and enrich current approaches to avoiding and managing violence while supporting children and adults with autismApproach are 1 avoiding violent reactions Sharp 1960 1971 2 realizing that continued struggle is necessary 3 creating transparency of the struggle 4 recruiting support and 5 taking unconditional reconciliatory action Bruyn and Rayman 1979” P 10Chapters 1–4 discuss theory and context chapter titles “The Politics of Family Conflict” “An Ecological Approach” “The NonViolent Resistance Model” and “From Theory to Practice The Intervention” all describe components of the authors’ approach
