Abstract

The Bogoliubov theory is used to analyse a superconductor into which a large pulse of highfrequency about 1011 Hz phonons has been injected The discussion is restricted to the case where the phonon distribution has timereversal symmetry in momentum space It is assumed thatT=0 °K and that absorption of the phonons is negligible For reasonable pulse sizes about 1015 phonons/cm3 it is found that the energy gap changes by one part in 105 at an angle almost perpendicular to the direction of the phonon pulses All other effects are of order one part in 109 The particular crystal structure of the solid is not taken into accountThis work was supported in part by the National Science Foundation and by the United States Air Force Office of Scientific Research under Contract AF 49638388 The article is based on part of a thesis presented to Stanford University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Ph D degree October 1962Si usa la teoria di Bogoliubov per studiare un superconduttore in cui è stato iniettato un forte impulso di fotoni di alta frequenza circa 1011 Hz Si restringe la discussione al caso in cui la distribuzione dei fononi è simmetrica rispetto all’inversione del tempo nello spazio degli impulsi Si suppone cheT=0 °K e che l’assorbimento dei fononi sia trascurabile Si trova che a ragionevoli ampiezze d’impulso circa 1015 fononi/cm3 il gap energetico cambia di una parte su 105 ad un angolo quasi perpendicolare alla direzione degli impulsi di fononi Tutti gli altri effetti sono dell’ordine di una parte su 109 Non si tien conto della particolare struttura cristallina del solido
