Abstract

We analyse a possible extension to unstable systems of the usual connection between the irreducible representations of the Poincaré group and the mass and spin numbers of stable particles This is done by a study of nonunitary representations of the real Poincaré group associated to complex values of the energymomentum fourvector π The representations turn out to be onedimensional and exhibit some similarities with the unitary representations corresponding to zero massAnalizziamo una possibile estensione al caso di sistemi instabili della usuale connessione tra le rappresentazioni irriducibili del grnppo di Poincaré ed i numeri di massa e spin di particelle stabili CiÒ è fatto studiando le rappresentazioni non unitarie del gruppo reale di Poincaré associate a valori complessi del quadrivettore energiaimpulso π Le rappresentazioni risultano unidimensionali e mostrano qualche analogia con quelle unitarie corrispondenti a massa nulla
