Abstract
A great deal of attention is now being devoted to development of intermetallics as structural compounds Research into processing and microstructural improvement has been devoted to various aluminide compounds Despite their excellent hightemperature strength they are susceptible to intergranular embrittlement This report examines the dispersion hardening behavior in ascast and heattreated titanium aluminidesAP Druschitz received his PhD in metallurgy from the Illinois Institute of Technology He is currently a staff research engineer with the Metallurgy Department of General Motors Research Laboratories in Warren Michigan Dr Druschitz is also a member of TMS
