Abstract
Analysis of stainless steel by computer aided xray fluorescence spectroscopy is described Samples of 300series stainless steel are analyzed by this method and for comparison by the more time consuming manual xray fluorescence and atomic absorption methods The automated method requires 80 less time than the manual methods yet provides comparable analytical results Quantitative measurements were made for chromium nickel manganese silicon and phosphorus in stainless steel samples
