Abstract

Guy Handfield is research officer at the newly formed Quebec Industrial Research Center Quebec He joined Quebec Iron and Titanium Corporation in 1967 and was involved in pyrometallurgical research activities He received his PhD degree in inorganic chemistry from the University of Montreal and was associate professor at the Universite du QuebecGiles G CharetteTMS is smelter superintendent at Quebec Iron and Titanium Corporation Sorel Quebec He joined Quebec Iron and Titanium in 1967 and was supervisorpyrometallurgy and mineral sciences group in the research department prior to his present position He received his PhD degree in extractive metallurgy in 1967 from Toronto UniversityHerbert Y Lee is manager of research at Quebec Iron and Titanium Corporation Sorel Quebec Since joining the company in 1952 he has held various positions in the research and development departments and was superintendent of the ore pretreatment plant and the iron and slag processing plant He is a graduate of McGill University
