Abstract
An organic–inorganic hybrid polymeric complex BaPtNCS4C20H36O6H2O n or BaDC18C6AH2OPtSCN4 n 1 DC18C6A = cissyncisdicyclohexyl18crown6 has been synthesized by the reaction of cissyncisdicyclohexyl18crown6 with BaSCN2 BaCO3 and H2PtCl4 and characterized by elementary analysis FTIR spectra and Xray singlecrystal diffraction It crystallizes as monoclinic space group P 21/n with crystallographic data a = 142756 Å b = 131655 Å c = 189718 Å β = 1062946° V = 34222 Å3 Z = 4 D calcd = 1854 g/cm3 F000 = 1856 R 1 = 00491 wR 2 = 00709 The asymmetric unit of complex 1 contains one BaDC18C6AH2O2+ complex cation and one PtSCN42− complex anion which are assembled into an infinite polymeric chain via the bridging SCN groups The coordinated water molecule gives two different intrachain and interchain hydrogen bondsCCDC227556 contains the supplementary crystallographic data for this paper These data can be obtained free of charge via wwwccdccamacuk/data request/cif by emailing data requestccdccamacuk or by contacting The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre 12 Union Road Cambridge CB2 1EZ UK fax +4401223336033
