Abstract
Phytochemical investigation of a methanolic extract of leaves of Cestrum diurnum L Solanaceae resulted in isolation of several furostanol steroidal saponins named cesdiurins I–III 1–3 Their structures of the isolated compounds were determined by spectroscopic analyses including by use of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic techniques as well as by mass spectral analysesThe authors are grateful to The Japan Society of The Promotion of Science for the financial support of this work MSK and the Research Center of Molecular Medicine of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Hiroshima University for the NMR measurements This work also was supported in part by GrantinAid from the Ministry of Education Science Sports Culture and Technology of Japan No 18590117 and 18032050 Thanks are also due to Astellas Foundation for Research on Medicinal Resources and Takeda Science Foundation for financial supports
