Abstract

3Acetyl6omethyl benzoylNethylcarbazole was prepared through successive omethyl benzoylation and acetylation of Nethylcarbazole in one pot The overall yield was 856 and the structure was confirmed by 1HNMR and 13CNMR A preliminary investigation had also been carried out on the mechanism of the omethyl benzoylation of NethylcarbazoleWe greatly acknowledge the generous financial support by grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China No 20776127 the National Key Technology RD Program No 2007BAI34B07 and the Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Program No 2008C010061
